BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Dr. Gallico graduated from Yale University in Biochemistry. He received his M.D. from the Harvard Medical School and taught at Harvard College during that period. His residency in General Surgery was completed at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Following two years of post-doctoral research in Immunology at Oxford University, England, on a William O. Moseley Fellowship from the Harvard Medical School, he completed his residency training in Plastic and Cosmetic surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital. After this training, he joined the active surgical staff of the Massachusetts General Hospital as a specialist in Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Harvard Medical School. His original research in laboratory grown skin has been applied world wide. He is a pioneer in computer visualization for cosmetic surgery. He is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (to perform skin, facial, breast, and body cosmetic surgery) and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an associate of the Royal College of Medicine, England, a Clinical Consultant for Project Hope, and was a Visiting Professor of the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation to China. He is a past-president of the Massachusetts Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Microsurgery, and the Northeastern, the New England. Dr. Gallico is the Founder of the MGH Cosmetic Surgery Center which has been developed to provide the same high level of expertise, safety, and excellent results for which the Massachusetts General Hospital is famous. The MGH Cosmetic Surgery Center provides the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery in a private operating room facility within the best and safest hospital available. He is also a Founder of The Boston Center for Cosmetic Surgery, which is the only free-standing, private operating facility in Massachusetts certified by the DPH and the JCAHO. His research and cosmetic surgery have been featured on Good Morning America, Time Magazine and Boston Magazine. He is a trained Fine Artist from the Yale School of Art & Architecture, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Mass College of Art. His work has been exhibited locally and nationally and is represented in several private collections.
